The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central & South Texas Kids For Wish Kids® program gives schools and organizations in central and south Texas the opportunity to sponsor wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Pictured left are Victoria and daughter Isabella at Jack C. Hays High School in Buda. Through the Kids For Wish Kids program, Jack C. Hays High School JROTC Cadets adopted Isabella’s Wish to go to Disney World.
“Five year-old Isabella, who is suffering from Leukemia, happens to be the daughter of one of our former JROTC Cadets, Victoria Gonzalez. Nine years ago, Victoria walked on the same stage to receive awards for her accomplishments as a Cadet. This year, we were able to give her daughter a special gift - and we received a priceless one in the process…………
On behalf of all our Cadets, I want to thank the Foundation for providing the opportunity for our cadets to experience the joy and satisfaction of reaching out to others in need. It is one of the most valuable of life’s lessons.”

Kids For Wish Kids is an extremely popular program for students because it is managed by the students! They are responsible for coming up with the ideas and carrying them out. Teachers and parents often serve as advisors, but ownership of the project belongs solely to the kids involved.
The Kids For Wish Kids program fosters the value of community service by providing students with hands-on experience in helping to grant wishes. It also provides a mechanism for building school spirit and creating additional partnerships between students and teachers outside of the classroom.
The opportunities available for fundraising activities through the Kids For Wish Kids program are endless. Anything from a parking space sale, to a dance marathon, or student/teacher basketball game - it’s all up to the students’ imagination.
